I'm Dr. Ken and I wanted to take a few moments to comment on who I am and why I choose to be a chiropractor.  Many years ago something happened to me that changed my life forever.    I was operating a commercial fishing enterprise in Kenai, Alaska when I experienced a severely limiting lower back problem.   I could barely walk, let alone do much of any work, I really needed help fast.  After carefully considering my situation and talking to friends and family I decided to give a chiropractor a try.   The chiropractor did an exam, took some films and then adjusted my spine.   The great thing was, I got the relief I was looking for and was able to return to all my duties within a short period of time.  One of the things that really impressed me was just how positively my body responded to the care I received and with no side effects.

I never forgot how that series of adjustments really changed my life, and years later when my small son came down with asthma symptoms my wife and I decided to take him to the Chiropractor as well.  We really didn't know what to expect because he didn't have any back problems that we knew of.  We had been told by other Doctors that he had allergies and that he would need to be placed on an inhaler to control his symptoms.  Again the Chiropractor examined him and said that he had spinal misalignments in his back affecting the nerve that went to his lungs.  He performed two simple adjustments to his spine and sent us home.  Now here is the amazing thing, after just a few of these adjustments his asthma symptoms were totally gone, his eyes were clear and he could breathe normally.  He was back outside running and playing with his two older brothers like nothing had ever been wrong.  Seth is now a teenager and the asthma has never returned.  As a matter of fact now that I am a Chiropractor myself I know why those adjustments were so powerful and I can check all of my children for those spinal misalignments to make sure that their bodies are operating at optimal levels as well; to be able to do that is a great reward and insurance for a healthier life.

It's amazing how life is; now people come to see me to help them for their leg pain, allergy,  or asthma problems.  They also come to see me for their headaches, migraines, chronic pain, neck pain shoulder and arm pain just to name a few.  You see I took this profession to heart so much that I needed to help others in the same way that it helped me that's why I became a Doctor of Chiropractic.   You see life is short and we don't need to spend it pain or discomfort if we don't have to and neither do our children.

One of my other passions is to help you to fall in love with "you" once again, to help you realize just how amazing your body is and just how hard it works to help you live.  But it can't stay healthy all by itself, it needs our attention, and we need to know a few things to help it as it works to take care of itself.  As a Chiropractor I also believe in something I call chiropractic nutrition and a nutritional examination may be the answer and the missing piece you are looking for.  You see most of the food we eat today is empty of nutrition, all the good stuff has been processed right out of it.  The soil our vegetables grow in no longer has the nutrients it once had, so maybe a nutritional examination may reveal that missing part your body has been looking for.  So don't be alarmed when you check in for the first time that you are asked to fill out a Symptom Survey Form so that we may find out if there are any missing links in your diet.

Here is my promise, to work as hard as I can to find the underlying cause of your problem.  Teach and explain what that problem is, and help you address that cause in order to find true lasting relief.  I believe that health is a state of optimal physical, emotional, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.  I think your Chiropractors office should be a place of fun and a place full of information for healthy living so that we can all strive to achieve happier more healthy lives.

If you have never explored Chiropractic before and you have concerns because you don't know what to expect call my office for a consultation, I'll even pay for that first visit.  After all making an informed choice empowers us to make the best choice for ourselves and our families.  I look forward to meeting you and serving your needs the best that I can.
